Fawn Mckay

Fawn MCK Brodie was born on September 15th, 1915 at Ogden Utah. Fawn MCKAY, who was raised in the Mormon Church's First Family, utilized her writing talent as well as expertise in research to write an intriguing psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 under the title"No Man knows My History, she used both. The title comes from the funeral sermon given by Joseph Smith, the founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his declaring: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know my feelings." My story is not known to anyone. I cannot tell it. Fawn (29 years old) said that, she has been honest since the moment she made her statement, three-hundred writers have risen to the event. These documents are not lacking but they do contradict one with respect to each other. It is a difficult task to put together these documents by separating the first-hand versions from copies that are third-hand and integrating Mormon stories with other ones to form a cohesive mosaic. This is exciting and also instructive. This is the kind of task to which Fawn Brodie put her professional energy into. Thaddeus Steves became a worldwide famous person due to her research and her work. "The Devil's Road" (1959) The Slaughter of the South. The life of Sir Richard Burton (1967) Thomas Jefferson. A personal biography of Richard Nixon (1974) as and posthumously Richard Nixon.
