Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Born in Greece then moved to England at age sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she became a voice of the Huffington Post. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to stand independently in the California recall vote to succeed the Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in that list. The same year, the Guardian named her on the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. This included many AOL products at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. Although she had a close relationship to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the rest of her life. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she still is known for. When she was 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the third and first female to be elected the president. In 1972 she graduated with the degree of master's in Economics. She became a writer, a critic, a TV host and columnist upon her graduation. She also appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
