April Ross

April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. Ross is among the few female beach volleyball players to achieve this feat. In Tokyo over the next several days she'll be aiming to secure her third gold along with first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. But more than that, Ross is aiming to capture the first Olympic gold. As she is 39, this might be her final chance to accomplish this. But she's convinced that top honours are within reach. Ross has told NBC Boston that he believes If they can play at their absolute most effective, and even play a good game, then we'll be in the running for gold. This is why I'm going to try a little bit of luck as well. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. She was able to participate in numerous activities during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Apart from the indoor game, she played track and basketball as an athlete in the pre-professional stage. It was clear that she was one of a kind in her other sport. As a high school volleyball season as per her college profile, she played the roles of middle blocker, an outside hitter, and setter. For her efforts she was honoured as an 1999 Gatorade The Circle of Champions' National Player of Year. Her volleyball skills also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. While Ross and Klineman are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman had been an experienced star on the beach even before the pair formed. There is no doubt that she has played a significant role on the beach scene for many years. Indeed, Ross won several tournaments, including one with a legendary volleyball player. Her partnership was with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, in addition to serving as Kessy's Klineman and coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be extremely successful on the world of professional sports, winning the world championship in 2009 together. The duo took silver in London's Olympics. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team together with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. In the end, fate had it that way. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross balled out for the USC Trojans as a collegiate. Her time at the school was one to remember. Her achievements included an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000. She also helped the Trojans to make it to in the Final Four. After her sophomore year, she was devastated by a personal loss but still able to be named an All-American. In her last two seasons at the school, she helped lead the Trojans towards the top of the mountain netting consecutive national championships. Individually Ross established her status in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the highest female collegiate player in the country. Ross took a course in internationally-related studies at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the opportunity to see her daughter turn into famous in beach volleyball. Ross's mom Margie passed away in the year 2001. Ross was still a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. She still cherishes the memory of her parent. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her in and out of the water.
