Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and made her debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the role in The Piano. She was old and had almost no prior experience in acting. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997).
