Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actor, director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama in St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton and is the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for productions as a young girl and watching her mom at work. Anna was featured in a variety of advertisements as a kid. In the month of November, 1999 Anna moved to Toronto to advance her acting career. She eventually moving in Los Angeles, California, during the decade that followed.
